Word Of The Day: Restraint

Restraint is not rejection. It is not coldness. It is the wisdom to hold back when giving too much would cost you your peace. It is the quiet power to pause, protect, and preserve your energy; especially in spaces that constantly take without giving.

Restraint allows you to stay open-hearted without being wide open to emotional exhaustion. It is the strength to love with balance, to show up with care, but to step back when the weight is no longer yours to carry. It is okay to care without carrying. It is okay to listen without absorbing. You are not required to fix what someone refuses to face.

Some people do not want healing. They want attention. And if you are not careful, their chaos will slowly become your burden. They will drain you in the name of closeness, while offering no effort toward change.

Today, remember that restraint is a form of maturity. It is an act of self-respect. You can be soft without being walked over. You can be giving without being drained. Protect your space. Honour your limits. Choose peace over guilt.

With love,

Lady Dee 🥰
