It was just me and Lady Dee.
Mi ride-or-die.
She bring mi bun, mi belly rubs, and mi best life.
Mi had mi blanket.
Mi corner.
Mi food bowl wid mi name pon it.
Mi routine.
Wake. Stretch. Patrol. Nap.
Watch Lady Dee do livestream. Bark at shadow. Nap again.
Eat. Chill. Repeat.
Mi wasn’t just a pet — mi was the pet.
So when Lady Dee seh she want fi start sharing tips inna her Pets Club, and use me as the mascot, mi wag mi tail twice and pose like mi ready fi magazine cover.

Episode 1 – Drink Yuh Water
Mi first post?
“Whether you purr, chirp, or woof — don’t forget your water bowl!”
Hydration important.
Even if yuh just deh roam the hallway looking busy, yuh need fi sip.
Mi take a long drink after mi post.
Then mi nap again.
Life was sweet.
The house was calm.
Just me… and Lady Dee.
Episode 2 – Chill Zone Life
Mi shared next tip:
“Your pets don’t just need playtime — they need a proper chill zone too.”
Mi had one.
Mi spot under the window — where the sun drop sweet pon mi back.
That was mi zone.
If yuh walk past too loud, mi just lift mi eyebrow.
Soft life.
Mi had no idea what was coming.
Episode 3 – Socks & Shoes Arrive
Lady Dee walk in one day with a cage.
Covered. Suspicious.
Then she smile wide and seh:
“Meet Socks and Shoes!”
Mi blink.
Birds.
Two of dem.
Yellow. Chirpy. Acting like dem own everything.
Shoes flip upside down like him showing off.
Socks chirp like him have radio show.
Mi sit down.
Mi huff.
Mi stare.
Mi was not consulted.
Episode 4 – The Bird Trap
Dem loud.
Dem early.
Dem disrespect nap hours.
Mi sniff di cage just to understand di enemy.
Lady Dee catch mi and ask:
“What yuh doing, Slippers?”
Mi seh:
“Mi just checking if dem still breathing.”
She laugh. But mi serious.
Shoes do him flips.
Socks sing more sweet.
Mi bark less.
Then one day, mi fall asleep under di cage.
Mi wake up and nobody chirp.
Nobody flap.
Lady Dee sip her tea and smile.
She seh:
“This is what peace look like.”
Mi nuh disagree.
Mi just blink slow and rest mi head.
Episode 5 – Then Came Bubbles
Later that week, Lady Dee bring home a tank.
Mi look in.
Water. Pebbles. Plastic plant.
And one floaty fish inside.
Bubbles.
He never blink.
He never swim fast.
He just hover and stare like him judging all a we.
Mi approach slow.
Mi press mi nose to di glass.
He stare deeper.
Mi bark once.
Him didn’t even flinch.
Mi start feel uneasy.
Lady Dee talking ‘bout balance and energy and vibes.
Mi tail start twitch.
Now mi house have:
- Two birds wid attitude
- One fish wid no blinking
- And me — di original
Mi deh here watching everything shift.
Mi still posting tips.
Still staying hydrated.
But mi telling yuh straight…
